This self drive tour leaves Castlebar on the N60 for Claremorris, taking in Breaffy, Manulla and Balla en route. Claremorris is a historic town which had a manastic foundation as early as the 8th Century. After exploring Claremorris, take the N17 for Knock, paying a vist to the shrine at the old church where the apparition in 1879 occurred. Next, vist Charlestown and take the N5 back towards Castlebar. On the way you can explore Swinford. In Bohola, you can detour to Kiltimagh, site of an atisian village with a thriving and social and cultural life. Then return to Bohola and back on to Castlebar.
