This drive begins in Donegal and goes west, a detour at Dunkineely leads to Saint John's Point, a long and lovely peninsula and a great diving area. Next is Killybegs, Ireland's major fishing port. Continuing west are lovely bays, with terrific views and a variety of landscapes. At Carrick there is Saint Columba's church.The road from Glencolumbkille to Ardara, via the Glengesh Pass gives superb views of Loughros Beg Bay. Maghera Caves are left as you approach Ardara, a heritage town and a centre for the manufacture of handwoven tweed and hand knit garments. Past Balllybofey, the main N15 takes you through Barnsmore Gap, where Lough Mourne is to your left. This is an impressive drive with mountains on either side. The road leads back to Donegal town.
