A daily boat trip to Skellig Michael is available, subject to weather conditions. Departure time is 10.30am and the departure point is Portmagee Harbour.
The trip takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes each way, passing very close to Small Skellig and its 27,000 pairs of nesting gannets en route. Seals are seen at the Small Skellig; dolphins may be seen also.
Visiting time on Skellig Michael is normally about 2.5 hours, giving adequate time to tour the old monastic site and to admire the puffins, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and fulmars nesting on the island.
Lavelles are certified by the Department of the Marine.
