Claddagh Charters is a commercial charter company, owned and run by Martin Oliver, a fully-qualified skipper with over 35 years experience, both in angling and commercial fishing. His family have a long maritime tradition with both his grandfather and granduncle having owned and sailed the famous Claddagh hooker, the 'True Light’.
Claddagh Charters specialises in pleasure trips and commercial ventures which include sightseeing, angling, and eco tours off the coast of Galway. Operating from the Claddagh Quaside, both boats The Anserina and The Island Light can also cater for hen and Stag parties and can be tailored to suit both individuals and groups.
Cruising east from the Claddagh we travel past Heir and Rabbit islands via the now famous Mutton Island landmark onto the shores of Salthill you will have the opportunity to see some truly breathtaking views of Galway Bay, the home of the famous Claddagh Hooker. The bay is full of life and who knows, if you're lucky you might just spot a couple of playful dolphins along the way.
Media groups, scientific bodies and local interest groups who wish to explore and research the marine life of the bay can also be catered for.
Calling all Hens & Stags: : Why not do something really different and book your hen or stag night with Claddagh Charters. Hens can bring their drinks, refreshments and party gear aboard, and sing and dance along to our live music. The Hen will receive the honour of wearing the Captain's hat and can even try her hand at skippering the boat (if she feels man enough). Plenty of fun ...
A Great Family Day: : Families, groups and individuals, including children, are catered for. Seating and blankets are also provided on board for your comfort. Visitors can not book the Sunset Cruise which begins at 20.30 from the Quayside - watch the sun go down on Galway Bay.
Sea Angling: : The 'Anserina' caters for up to 12 anglers for full and half day trips. All rods and tackle are provided onboard, and all ages are catered for. The fishing grounds off Co Clare or the Aran Islands, are the best locations - here visitors will have the opportunity of catching shark, cod, pollock, conger eel, just to name a few.
Media Groups: : Media groups, scientific bodies and local interest groups who wish to explore and research the marine life of the bay can also be catered for.
Marine Studies: : Claddagh Charters can facilitate both scientific bodies or local interest groups who wish to explore and research the marine life of the bay.
Direction : Departure points are located in Galway City.
